OpenAI is strengthening its science unit: SI is taking on not only calculations but also the routine around drug development.
According to TechCrunch, Orchestra Bio's agents help biotech companies track finances and schedule clinical trials. OpenAI will fold the team and technology into its biotech unit - into Rosalind, its model for life-sciences research, and Rosalind Workbench, a tool for planning experiments and analyzing results. The terms of the deal were not disclosed; according to TechCrunch, Orchestra Bio had raised about $20 million by 2025 from Andreessen Horowitz, Atria and 8VC. The outlet names Moderna and Novo Nordisk among Rosalind's customers.
