Cloudflare introduces Clairic, a model that pulls field values out of text and images in a single pass without generating text

For document processing, a model appears that answers faster and cheaper than language models, but the figures so far come only from the company itself.
Clairic takes a schema of typed fields (text, number, date, duration, list, estimate, forecast) and returns values with a confidence score, and if the data is missing it returns an empty value rather than an invented answer. The model is available in preview in Workers AI under the name @cf/cloudflare/clairic; Cloudflare promises open weights later. By the company's own measurements, a claims-processing pipeline with Clairic took 19.3 s against 61.7 s for a pipeline of language models alone and cost 49% less ($6,032 against $11,740 per million claims); in a 21-day forecast the average error was 3.3%, with 17 of 21 actual values falling within the 80% interval.
