Robotaxis are starting to enter Europe, but the first riders there will have to wait about a year.

The company announced it is laying the groundwork for a service in Spain, starting with the Madrid region. In the coming days, electric Jaguar I-PACE vehicles will appear on the streets: first manually driven, then with trained specialists behind the wheel validating the technology. According to Waymo, it has completed more than 20 million trips and serves hundreds of thousands of commercial rides a week. The company expects to welcome its first riders in 2027, is in talks with national, regional and local authorities, and will follow Spanish rules.
