Cognizant assigns 18,000 employees to build SI agents on Google's Gemini platform

A large contractor is moving thousands of engineers to building SI agents, but so far the results have been named only by the company itself.
The new Gemini Frontier Capability Group will work on modernizing legacy systems, developer tools, business process automation and cybersecurity. More than 55,000 Cognizant employees have already been trained in working with Gemini. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed; CEO Ravi Kumar said the group will let the best engineers focus on bringing frontier SI into production for clients. The company cites the example of an unnamed retailer: a 40% increase in developer productivity and a 35% cost reduction.
