Greece now has its own computing for SI, and startups in the region will be able to use it for free from 2027.
Daedalus in Lavrio (Attica), in a former power station building, delivers 85.69 petaflops; in the June 2026 Green500 ranking it is 31st in the world by power and 23rd by energy efficiency. The liquid-cooled system is built on Nvidia Grace Hopper GH200; it cost EUR 58.9 million, with HPE supplying the equipment (EUR 41 million) and Mainsys the installation (EUR 17.9 million), funded by the EU recovery fund and EuroHPC. Through the Pharos AI Factory, commercial services start in March 2027: free for startups and small businesses within state aid limits. A second supercomputer is planned in Kozani.
