Cody Wilson unveils WASP, a 3D-printed pistol designed in conversation with an SI model trained on a library of gun blueprints

An unrestricted model trained on blueprints helped make a working weapon, lowering a barrier that might once have stopped an untrained person.

American gun-rights activist Cody Wilson presented WASP, a single-shot .22-caliber pistol that, in his words, is the first firearm made by SI. The project was built with GatGPT, his own language model trained on the file library of DEFCAD, a repository of digital gun blueprints; the model answers questions about firearms without restrictions. According to Habr, the pistol was printed on a Bambu Lab printer from ordinary plastic with a metal barrel and striker in about six hours; during a demonstration for a journalist the weapon first misfired, then fired. Wilson stresses: "we created not an SI-generated weapon, but an SI capable of generating weapons."
