The market is looking harder at the debt being used to build computing capacity for SI.
According to CBS News, on October 16 the Nasdaq Composite lost 573 points (2.1%) and closed at 26,140, the S&P 500 fell 1.1% and the Dow fell 0.3%. CoreWeave shares dropped 12% on the day and 24% on the week, AMD 6%, Intel 5.8%, Micron 5.6% and Broadcom 4.5%. Analyst Adam Crisafulli, per CBS, points out that neoclouds such as CoreWeave finance capital spending with debt and share issuance rather than cash flow. CBS also links the move to the discussion of Anthropic's IPO valuation and to the 5.1% yield on 10-year US Treasuries.
