Software for autonomous boats is learning to work as a team and connects to new platforms in weeks.
According to Shield AI's description (a case study on the company's site), it and Taiwan-based manufacturer Thunder Tiger integrated the Hivemind mission-autonomy software into SeaShark 600 and SeaShark 800 uncrewed boats and went from integration to a demonstration at sea in six weeks. Hivemind manages several boats working together to extend maritime surveillance without increasing operator workload; the company says Hivemind is already integrated on more than 30 platforms. The results are Shield AI's claim.
