A Cloudflare–OpenAI pilot adds hundreds of millions of new pages to ChatGPT's search index

According to Cloudflare's blog, the pilot, launched in July 2026 on about 1% of Cloudflare's network, uses network signals to help OpenAI's search crawler find useful pages; OpenAI evaluates and ranks them independently. Cloudflare reports that OpenAI discovered and indexed hundreds of millions of new pages. The same signals help filter out nonexistent addresses and duplicates and flag individual compromised pages without penalizing the whole site. The results come from Cloudflare itself.
