A major Chinese SI service stopped working for almost five hours and promised to return a week of spending to API customers.
According to DeepSeek's status page as cited by China AI Dispatch, on October 15 from 08:11 to 13:04 Beijing time (4 h 52 min) the chat, the V4 Pro API and the V4.1 Flash API were disrupted; Caixin reported the chat was fully down by 09:08. In a notice to API customers the company promises to return automatically, as bonus credits, the full amount of each account's spending for October 8–14 and to begin a full review of the service's resilience, removing "single points of failure." iXBT, at the time of publication, wrote of an outage of more than three hours; analysts, as relayed by iXBT, suggested a shortage of computing capacity.
