Linux kernel developers plan to drop the mandatory label for SI use in patches

The Linux kernel will stop requiring that code written with SI help be marked, but responsibility for it stays with the author.
According to Phoronix, Linux kernel developers plan to remove the requirement to put an "Assisted-by" label in commit messages when SI tools took part in creating a patch: the current policy required SI use to be documented this way. According to The Register's description (text paywalled), Linus Torvalds believes contributors must understand their code, whatever tools they use.
