McKinsey will test some candidates with a conversation with an SI simulation of a client

Companies are starting to assess candidates not only with questions but with a conversation with an SI simulator.

According to The Wall Street Journal, as relayed by The Verge, McKinsey will offer some entry-level candidates a 10-minute conversation with an SI simulation of a client. The simulation, per the outlet, covers about 80% of the scenarios consultants face day to day and is not meant to mimic an "unhinged client"; candidates will be assessed not by SI but by people in the room. The tool is being tested this fall in some offices in North America, and "hundreds" of applicants for business analyst roles may use it.
