Supporters of SI regulation are becoming a visible force in US elections.
According to an analysis shared with Axios, groups supporting SI safety and regulation and private donors have spent about $48 million this election cycle on campaigns of candidates from both parties who favor regulation. Donors include researchers, for example Juan Felipe Cerón Uribe of OpenAI and Aryan Bhatt of Redwood. Guardrails Alliance, a group created by tech-company workers, is singled out: it has raised $11.7 million through a super PAC and a nonprofit arm.
