YouTube Music begins labeling tracks created with SI

A listener can now see whether a song was made by SI and decide whether to listen to it.

YouTube Music is introducing a label on the player page for songs created fully or partly by SI (for example, in composition or vocals); according to TechCrunch, the labels will also appear in the main YouTube app. According to The Verge's description, the label saying a track was made with SI is applied to tracks created "primarily" with generative tools. Rights holders can indicate one of three options themselves: "Fully Gen AI", "Partly Gen AI" or "No Gen AI"; YouTube says it worked with music partners and uses its own detection tools. Clicking the label shows details about the role of SI in creating the track.
