Searching for vulnerabilities with SI is forcing large banks to urgently hire hundreds of people for fixes.
Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan told CNBC after the third-quarter earnings release that in the second quarter the bank brought in 1,000 outside contractors to fix vulnerabilities exposed by advanced SI models, including Anthropic's Mythos; they are still working, in addition to the bank's 3,000 employees in this area. He told analysts that in the third quarter the bank spent "a couple hundred million dollars plus" on software remediation and regulatory issues related to anti-money-laundering. CNBC calls this one of the first public statements by a major US company on the people and money spent on protecting software from SI.
