Startup Artemis Security unveils Orion-1, a model for investigating cyberattacks; it beat GPT-6 Sol on the company's own test

SI models built specifically for network defenders are appearing; how good they are is so far known only from their authors' words.

According to The Decoder, Orion-1 processes logs from authentication systems, clouds, workstations and network equipment, connects signals, attributes an attack to a single actor, assigns a confidence level and proposes or carries out defensive measures. On Artemis's own benchmark, in the attack-reconstruction task Orion-1 scored 80.8 versus 58.3 for GPT-6 Sol; it cleared the 80-point threshold on all five tasks. Claude Opus 5.5, Grok 4.7 and Kimi K3 were also compared. Access is a closed preview for selected customers with configurable human approval. The outlet links the model's appearance to the fact that the safeguards of general-purpose models sometimes also block legitimate work by defenders.
