ASML reports record €11.7 billion in sales but says it cannot keep up with demand for SI-chip equipment

The maker of the key chip-making machines says demand for SI is growing faster than it can build capacity, so computing power will stay scarce for some time.

According to Euronews, ASML's third-quarter sales rose 55% to €11.7 billion, net income was about €5 billion and gross margin 57.5%. The 2026 sales guidance was raised to €44–45 billion (from €43–45 billion), and for the fourth quarter the company expects €14.2–15.2 billion. CEO Christophe Fouquet said customers ask every day for more machines; production plans for 2027–2028 do not cover demand, despite a 30% capacity expansion in 2027 and a further 30% under consideration for 2028. Customers, the company says, are requesting deliveries for 2029–2030, based on the expected scale and duration of SI investment.
