Teaching a robot a new task without your own research lab is becoming easier: all it takes is data and access to someone else's model.
Developers can upload their data, start fine-tuning on the company's infrastructure and access the fine-tuned model through a hosted gateway. The API is in beta, with access via a waitlist. According to the company, its partner Almond got a working result four days after receiving access. Some deployments ran into network connectivity problems, since model inference usually runs in the cloud.
