The feed can be tuned by conversation rather than only by likes, which gives people back some control over the algorithm.
Meta has added tools to Facebook with which users describe in plain language which topics they want to see in the feed and in Reels; access is via the three-dot menu on a post. After marking "interested" or "not interested", the system asks follow-up questions, and large language models take the meaning and context of the request into account alongside the usual engagement signals. The feature is rolling out gradually.
