American Express proposes a scheme in which an SI agent's purchase is limited by the customer's pre-approved intent

Payment companies are looking for a way to let SI agents spend money without exceeding what the person allowed.

In the Intent Intelligence Framework, the service records the terms of a purchase (merchant, budget, preferences), the customer confirms identity and consent, and an intent ID and a proof token are issued; instead of a card number, a digital payment credential is created for payment. The ID helps with fraud protection and payment disputes. Amex is in talks with partners. In the company's survey, 66% of Americans are ready to use agents to compare prices within the next 12 months.
