AMD shows Helion reference rack for SI agents: up to 32,768 Zen 6 cores in one system

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

SI agents need many ordinary processors next to accelerators, and separate racks are already being designed for that.

According to 3DNews, Helion is a reference 21-inch rack built to the OCP ORv4 specification for workloads where processors matter more than accelerators. It holds 128 EPYC 9996 Venice processors with 256 cores each (up to 32,768 Zen 6 cores) and up to 16 MI350P accelerators in a hybrid configuration; network bandwidth is up to 102 Tb/s. AMD will not sell finished racks: server makers will build them, with availability expected in the first half of 2027.
