DeepMind's AlphaProof Nexus passes peer review in Science: nine open Erdos problems solved with machine verification

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

SI is already closing old math problems in a way a machine can verify, and now a peer-reviewed journal has recognized it.

Science has published a paper on an SI agent for formal proof search in the Lean system, where the compiler checks every step. According to the paper, the agent autonomously solved 9 of 353 open Erdos problems and proved 44 of 492 conjectures from the OEIS integer sequence database; The Decoder reports it also closed an open question in algebraic geometry and improved a known bound in a min-max problem. The authors write that even a simple loop of "a language model proposes, Lean checks" replicated the Erdos successes.
