QGIS bans any code written with SI assistants and agents

Some open projects cannot yet cope with the flow of SI-written code and are closing the doors, though the authors of the ban say it is not forever.

Developers of the open-source geographic information system QGIS adopted proposal QEP 428: code created with language models, SI assistants or agents is banned from the main repository. The proposal was submitted on September 24 and accepted on October 7. According to the discussion text, the earlier "human reviews the result" policy did not work: reviewer load grew, quality fell and some experienced contributors left. Participants themselves call the ban temporary and allow exceptions such as autocomplete or translation.
