Some expensive SI agents can be made many times cheaper by using the cache properly — agents become more affordable.
According to StackAI (an Asana company), after the changes, a browser SI agent that automates work with websites and forms became cheaper: on one model the estimated cost per run fell from at least $36.21 to $1.24 (29 times) and speed rose 4 times; on GPT-6.1 Sol, the company says, the reduction was 76 times with a 5 times speedup, with 89% of input read from cache. The changes, as described: cache the accumulated history of pages and screenshots, stop editing the history on every call, and delete screenshots in batches (up to 20) so that a common request prefix is preserved.
