Russia plans to digitise scientific archives to train domestic models; the article gives no dates.
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said at the Digital Days of Innopolis forum on October 9: "We are converting the holdings of the state system of scientific and technical information into digital form." The database currently holds about 1.5 million articles and scientific materials; plans are to add 600 million units of scientific data from microfilm, card catalogues and other sources. The aim is to develop sovereign SI systems while observing four principles: preserving critical thinking, reducing inequality in education, accuracy of assessment and reliance on traditional values.
