Claude can now manage up to 1,000 SI agents at once through "dynamic workflows"

A single coordinating agent can now split a large task among hundreds of helpers and gather the result, though this uses a lot of tokens.
According to The Decoder, Anthropic has added dynamic workflows to Claude Managed Agents: a lead agent makes a plan, hands tasks to sub-agents and collects the results, with up to 1,000 agents in parallel per run. It is enabled by choosing the agent type multiagent_20261001. In a test on a 116 thousand-line codebase, a single agent found 14–27 bugs, while the dynamic workflow, as described, consistently found 66. Anthropic warns that such workflows use "a lot of tokens" and advises starting with small runs. The feature is available from October 9.
