Zakharova: SI acts as a "catalyst" for ideological control in countries that call themselves models of democracy

SI has become a subject of diplomatic rhetoric: its power is seen both as a threat to freedom of opinion and as a tool of influence.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told the Digital Solutions forum (as relayed by Interfax) that a number of states are moving toward societies with a single permissible opinion. In her words, SI itself is not the main problem but a powerful catalyst: it allows "shaping thoughts" and presenting a predetermined result as the will of the majority. Zakharova claims these processes are accelerating in countries that proudly call themselves models of democracy.
