According to Interfax, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham exchanged instruments of ratification for a treaty that Merz and former prime minister Keir Starmer signed in July 2025. The treaty deepens cooperation in defense, the economy, quantum technologies, SI and space; the parties also committed to monitoring and countering hybrid threats.
