Religious communities are writing their own rules for SI, a sign that SI has entered the sphere of faith as well.

The secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana adopted an ethical code on the use of SI in the religious sphere. According to Kazakhstan's Vice President Erlan Karin, it is meant to prevent distortion of religious texts, digital forgeries made in the name of spiritual leaders, algorithmic discrimination against believers and manipulation of convictions. It rests on respect for human dignity, non-discrimination and human control over consequential decisions. The initiative goes back to a proposal by Kazakhstan's president at the eighth congress in September 2025; the documents were backed by representatives of various traditions, including the Russian Orthodox Church.
