An open model solves olympiad problems better than the best human, and the recipe is published so anyone can repeat it.
Nvidia reported that fine-tuned Nemotron models reached gold-medal level at IOI 2026 and IMO 2026. At the IOI, Nemotron-3-Ultra-CC (550 billion parameters, 55 billion active) scored 535.4 out of 600, against a gold threshold of 361.12 and a top human score of 498.27. At the IMO it scored 30 out of 42 against a gold threshold of 29, with no formal provers or external tools, using a generate-verify-refine scheme. Nvidia released checkpoints, data (414,890 filtered examples across 15,818 problems), the 200-problem Nemotron-IMO-Bench test and code.
