An open agent has grown to a noticeable share of global SI traffic: open models are competing not just with slogans but with money.
Nous Research confirmed a $1.5 billion valuation after a $90 million Series B round (total raised: $158 million). Robot Ventures led, with Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung and 1789 Capital participating. The company launched Hermes for Businesses, configurable SI agents for multi-step workflows with data protection. According to TechCrunch, the open Hermes Agent has been cloned more than 24 million times and accounts for about 2.5% of global SI token usage; annualized revenue was about $36 million by mid-September, and the company expects to exceed $100 million by year-end.
