SI agents get their own room with rules on an ordinary laptop: powerful models run right on the desk, not only in the cloud.
At its Windows and Surface event, Microsoft and Nvidia introduced the RTX Spark chip: up to 20 Grace CPU cores, a Blackwell GPU with up to 6,144 cores, up to 128 GB of unified memory and up to 1 petaflop of FP4 SI compute (Nvidia's figures); by Nvidia's account it can run models such as Qwen 3.8 Flash Next with 125 billion parameters locally. The Surface Laptop Ultra starts at $2,599, with preorders open and shipping from October 16. In Windows, Microsoft announced general availability of Execution Containers (MXC), isolated containers in which agents run in the background under OS control, with permissions granted at runtime. Copilot will get access to files on the PC under "hybrid intelligence": the HydraFusion router decides whether to compute locally or in the cloud; according to The Register, access is limited to integrations such as Office, GitHub Copilot gets the features next week and the Copilot app within the next few months.
