Startup Minerva Humanoids emerges from stealth with $10 million for humanoid robots for hazardous work

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Publication time restored from the build log. . Updated: .

The first humanoids are going where it is dangerous for people, not to replace people but to replace risk.

The round was led by General Catalyst, with Hugging Face among the investors. The Roger robot is controlled by an operator through a VR headset, while SI handles balance, navigation and recovery after a fall; targets include oil platforms, high-voltage substations, munitions disposal and chemical threat cleanup. The first paid pilots start this fall; the company operates in Germany and the US and avoids single-source Chinese components.
