Most respondents want to slow SI down — a mood that those writing restrictions now rely on.
According to a Quinnipiac University poll (1,202 adults, September 24–27, margin of error ±3.5 percentage points), 47% favor slowing down, 30% favor stopping completely, and 5% favor speeding up. 86% support independent safety standards even if they slow progress; 74% have little or no trust in the heads of SI companies.
