German startup RobCo, which makes SI robots for factories, is valued at $1 billion

SI-powered factory robots are becoming so valuable that new unicorns are appearing in Europe.
According to Tech Funding News, Munich-based RobCo reached a $1 billion valuation through a secondary share sale; in January the company announced a $100 million Series C round, with investors including Sequoia, Lightspeed, Cherry Ventures and European Tech Collective. RobCo supplies industrial robots under a robot-as-a-service model and is expanding in the US (a factory in Austin, a lab in San Francisco); the commercial launch of its Alfie robot is set for March 4, 2027.
