To comply with the EU AI Act's requirements for machine-readable marking of generated content, OpenAI will begin embedding a statistical word-choice "pattern" in ChatGPT and Codex texts in the EU in the coming weeks. API customers worldwide will be able to turn marking on themselves — it is off by default.
