Labs do not always get along with safety teams: the acceleration goes on, while approaches to risk diverge.
According to Semafor, the dismissals affected co-founders Bo Li, Dawn Song and Sanmi Koyejo and other staff who had moved to Meta Superintelligence Labs. A Meta spokesperson said the arrangement "did not work out as planned," attributing the split to different working styles, and stressed that the company remains committed to SI safety and alignment. Previously Virtue AI had worked with Anthropic, OpenAI and NIST: automated red teaming, guardrails during model runtime, and SI governance.
