To avoid waiting for the grid, data centers are being built right next to power plants.
The site is in Chiba next to a JERA thermal power plant; the first capacity comes in 2028, and the full 400 MW by 2029. JERA will supply up to 400 MW directly, bypassing the grid connection queue, for 15 to 25 years; RHAELM is responsible for construction and financing, Dell for the racks, and Apollo is an investor.
