Island, which protects the corporate browser from "runaway" SI agents, raises $400 million at a $6.4 billion valuation

Control over agents is becoming a big business of its own: the freer SI is, the more costly oversight of it becomes.

The Series F round was led by Evolution Equity Partners with participation from J.P. Morgan and Sequoia; the valuation rose by $1.8 billion. Last month Island added an inventory of employees' SI agents, a map of MCP servers, blocking of risky SI tools and filtering of malicious prompts. By mid-2027 the company plans to hire 500 people.
