Koray Kavukcuoglu, who took over DeepMind in August, said in his first public appearance in that role at The Information's conference: "We intend to release an early version after post-training as soon as possible — the results are promising." There is no exact date. The day before, Google released Gemini 3.8 Flash and Flash-Lite; after the releases of Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Sol/Luna, Google is considered to be lagging behind.
