CNN poll: 75% of Americans feel more fear and anxiety than anything else about SI, nearly 70% say the government regulates it too little

While SI accelerates, society fears it more and more, and that fear will become the main fuel for attempts to slow it down.
An SSRS poll for CNN (1,206 adults, September 16-17): 43% feel strong fear, almost 9 in 10 are more worried than excited about the possibility of SI surpassing human intelligence, and feel the same about building data centers. Anxiety is almost equal among those under 45 (81%) and older (83%), but higher among women (83%) than men (67%). 85% of Democrats, 67% of independents and 63% of Republicans consider regulation insufficient.
