Anthropic and OpenEvidence to give doctors in about 100 poor countries a free SI assistant for clinical decisions
Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Publication time restored from the build log. . Updated: .
Medical knowledge at the level of the best clinics is becoming available to doctors where there are almost no specialists.
OpenEvidence answers doctors' questions based on peer-reviewed research and clinical guidelines; in the US it was consulted 42 million times in August alone. The service will become free in low- and middle-income countries, including Uganda, Angola, Sudan, Haiti and Mongolia: Anthropic provides the model, OpenEvidence tailors answers to local diseases and available resources, and pilots have already run in Rwanda and Botswana. Financial terms were not disclosed; Anthropic president Daniela Amodei told Reuters that market incentives alone would not have been enough for this.
