A maker of phones and electric cars caught up with the frontier labs' level for a couple of million dollars and gave it away to everyone for free.

The larger MiMo-V2.6-Pro is a mixture-of-experts model with 1.02 trillion parameters, of which 42 billion are active per token; the smaller Flash has 310 billion and 15 billion active, and both have a 1 million token context. On the Artificial Analysis index, Pro scored 46 points, a record for open models, level with Grok 4.7 and above DeepSeek V4.1 Flash (39). Reinforcement learning took less than six days and about $2.6 million. The weights are released under the MIT license together with the training code and more than 7 thousand training environments; the API costs $0.435/$0.87 per million tokens for Pro and $0.14/$0.28 for Flash.
