UN and Google make global statistics accessible to SI agents after models got 79% of answers wrong
Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Publication time restored from the build log. . Updated: .
When SI gets direct access to verified data, it stops making up numbers — accurate answers about the world become available to everyone.
The new UN System Data Commons platform, built on Google's open-source Data Commons framework, will replace the UNData portal and supports the MCP protocol so that SI agents can query UN statistics directly. The trigger was a UNICEF test: six major models, across 133 thousand answers, showed an average accuracy of 21.2%, and about 60% of answers contained no usable numbers at all. 26 UN entities have joined the project; the goal is 80% of statistical datasets by 2027; Google.org has provided $2 million.
