Bolt and Lucid plan to launch at least 25,000 robotaxis in Europe

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Publication time restored from the build log. . Updated: .

Driverless taxis are heading to Europe at scale — even the cities with the strictest rules are starting to prepare for cars without drivers.

The vehicles will be built on Lucid's upcoming Midsize platform for Level 4 autonomy with Nvidia's Hyperion compute and assembled at Lucid's new plant in Saudi Arabia; the fleet will be owned and operated by Bolt, which works in 50+ countries. No timeline or investment amount was given; by 2035 Bolt wants 100,000 driverless vehicles on the platform. The Midsize platform itself has not been built yet and was delayed in August; the self-driving system will be supplied by partners that have not yet been named.
