All Chinese SI models combined earn only about 10% of OpenAI's and Anthropic's revenue

Chinese models are cheap and popular but still earn little — the SI race is decided not only by model quality but also by the money for the next leap.
According to Rhodium Group's estimate, annual revenue of Chinese labs is: ByteDance $4 billion, Alibaba $2.4 billion, Z.ai $1.8 billion, Moonshot $1 billion, MiniMax $800 million, DeepSeek $500 million; OpenAI has $40 billion and Anthropic $65 billion. Meanwhile DeepSeek is valued at 163 times annual revenue and Moonshot at 50, versus 34 for OpenAI and 21 for Anthropic. Rhodium partner Logan Wright says the funding gap will make it hard for Chinese labs to grow sustainably.
