Legal research that took interns days is turning into a query to a model, making law more accessible and cheaper.
This is not a new model but GPT-6 Astra with a legal search index of 230+ million URLs, covering statutes, regulations and court decisions, and the Free Law Project database, which covers more than 99.9% of published US case law. On the Vals AI Legal Research Bench, it passed the correctness check on 54% of 200 questions versus 38.7% for regular GPT-6 Astra with web search. Access is for selected firms through the Trusted Access program in ChatGPT and Codex, with 26 partner plugins, including Thomson Reuters, Harvey and Legora.
