Editing an image with words is becoming as easy as editing text — another creative tool is moving from the hands of professionals into everyone's hands.
The new model generates images up to 50% faster than Images 2.0, renders light and textures better, preserves faces and objects from uploaded photos, and changes a single detail without touching the rest. Hand-drawn sketches (Sketch), templates and comments on specific areas of an image have been added. Two models arrived in the API — the fast GPT-Image-2.5 Flare and the precise Sunburst — at $30 per million output tokens. According to OpenAI, users create more than 3 billion images a week.
