The same SI "autopilot" platform stretches from small drones to supersonic vehicles: military autonomy is becoming a universal software layer.
Startup Hermeus chose Anduril's Lattice autonomy platform for its high-speed Mk 2 Quarterhorse drone, which is funded by the Pentagon's Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and designed for speeds of up to Mach 3. Anduril will supply flight software and ground control, with flight tests starting next year. Hermeus's chief executive wants the aircraft to launch and take off on its own at the push of a single button.
