Kaiser nurses in California picket, demanding a say in SI adoption

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Publication time restored from the build log. . Updated: .

SI is coming to hospitals, and workers want not a ban but a seat at the table where decisions on exactly how to use it are made.

The union, which represents more than 25,000 nurses, held informational pickets at nearly two dozen Kaiser Permanente hospitals after the collective agreement expired on August 31. Besides staffing shortages, nurses fear that SI will influence decisions on staffing levels and quality of care, and demand to take part in decisions about testing such systems. Kaiser replies that it supports technology that assists nurses rather than replaces them.
